Guardian Program

FEMALE GUARDIAN HOMES

When a female enters her heat cycle, She will come stay with us briefly for pairing (typically 2–4 days), then return home until later in her pregnancy. Shortly before her due date, she will come back to us to deliver and raise her puppies, usually staying 8–9 weeks.

Once her puppies are weaned and ready for their families, she returns home to you. After she completes her time in our program, we cover the cost of her spay and she continues life with you as your beloved pet.

MALE GUARDIAN HOMES

Males stay in their guardian homes full-time and are only brought to us as needed for breeding. Some months they may not be needed at all, while other times we may coordinate short visits.

We always communicate as much as possible ahead of time, though flexibility is important since timing can depend on the females. Visits are typically brief, and then they’re right back home with you.

Once a male is finished with our program, we cover his neuter and he remains with you permanently.

What is a guardian home?

our dogs are first and foremost part of a family. Our guardian home program allows us to grow responsibly while ensuring each dog is raised in a loving, real-life home environment- not a kennel setting.

A guardian home is a unique opportunity for an approved family to welcome one of our breeding dogs into their home without the upfront cost of purchasing a top-quality puppy. These dogs live as cherished pets with their guardian families while remaining a part of our program for a period of time. Once their career is complete, full ownership is signed over to the guardian family.

Guardian families are responsible for providing everyday care just like any dog owner- this includes routine veterinary care, maintaining grooming, and committing to training and socialization. Wild Wood Doodles covers all breeding-related expenses throughout the program. When available, we also offer complimentary boarding for our guardian dogs.
